Ingredients

This set also includes three basic test tubes of the different types of Kampot pepper.

They differ in flavor and aroma—qualities that you can hardly find in pepper bought in regular supermarkets.

Black pepper When ground, it releases notes of eucalyptus, camphor, and thyme accompanied by the scent of lime peel. These gradually evolve into a seaside aroma with emerging fruity tones. The dominant aroma is that of peach and nectarine, accompanied by the scent of pine and earthy tones of Cambodian mountain soil full of minerals.

Rare red pepper is an explosion of fruity notes with a milder spiciness. At first, the tones of rose and rosehip dominate, which then give way to dried cherry notes. After two to three minutes, the more characteristic aromas for Kampot pepper begin to develop, such as citrus fruits, dried tangerines, and the earthy crust of sourdough bread.

White pepper offers a gentle yet still peppery caress to the taste buds. When ground, it releases aromas of camphor, sage, and cedar wood, accompanied by a delicate scent of nutmeg flower, grapefruit, and other citrus fruits. After a few minutes in the mouth, you can detect notes of nutmeg, thyme flower, and lemon balm underpinned by the aroma of cedar and black tea.

Maintenance

By adjusting the grind coarseness of pepper, you affect its flavor profile.

The smaller the fragments, the sharper pepper flavor will be. Conversely, larger fragments impart more of the specific exotic tones of Kampot pepper to the dish.

When filling the grinder, never use your bare hands, but pour the restless little balls into the chamber straight from the package, and help yourself with a spoon or funnel. At the same time, do not forget to clean your Grinder regularly clean. However, never use water or chemical agents for that. A cloth is enough, a brush and a drop of olive oil. Always keep your Grinder away from the sink and handle it carefully when it is over steam.

Material

Grinder is made from natural wood, or alternatively combines a wooden head with a porcelain body.

All mills have a unique wood pattern and also a special surface finish, thanks to which they will last you for many decades. Porcelain mills rely on the robustness and durability of porcelain, which is in stark contrast to the solid wood from which the head is made.

The pepper itself in this case is housed in 10-gram glass test tubes, and the entire set comes in a box made of recycled cardboard, on which engraving can be done according to your wishes. We did not choose these packages by chance. Not only do they look nice, but they are also made in the Czech Republic and all are made from sustainable material that can be easily recycled or upcycled.
